Dr. Laurie Gaydos

Dr. Gaydos has extensive experience in mixed methods research in maternal and child health.  As a mixed-methods researcher, she has extensive experience in developing and implementing qualitative research projects, particularly in-depth interviews and focus groups as required for this project.  She also has experience training others to conduct focus groups and analyze the data.  In a recent project for the Georgia Department of Public Health, she developed a qualitative data collection and analysis plan and trained 20 focus group facilitators to implement the research protocols and conduct the focus groups.  She teaches students how to conduct qualitative and mixed methods studies.  For this project, she will work closely with the team to ensure that focus group data collection processes follow standard practice and are appropriate for the study. She will provide training and oversight for analysis of the data collected during the focus groups. She currently serves as the Associate Chair for Academic affairs of the Executive MPH Program in the Rollins School of Public Health.
